The property is recent enough that the build is modern and the rooms haven't been worn through, which is a real advantage against the older AMResorts inventory. Costa Mujeres itself is a quieter corridor north of Cancun (same general area as Atelier and Hotel Mousai), with a calm beach and a thinner excursion ecosystem than the Riviera Maya. The trade-off is the price: at $14,879 a week, the property is competing with Grand Velas, La Casa de la Playa, and the Mayakoba properties — all of which run a clearer luxury identity than Secrets.

What you're paying for: a new-build adults-only in the Costa Mujeres cluster at a luxury price point. For travelers committed to AMResorts loyalty programs who want the brand's newest hardware, this is the option. For everyone else, the same dollars buy Grand Velas Riviera Maya or La Casa de la Playa, both of which deliver more for the number.
